UWPV is seeking proposals for its 2017-2018 Basic Needs Grant Program. These grants will support programs and services that provide temporary, short-term food, shelter, and heating assistance to stabilize those individuals and families faced with an emergency due to loss of employment, housing, natural disaster, domestic violence, etc. Organizations should not approach this application with the expectation of ongoing annual operating support.
Grants will be awarded for a period of 12 months from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.
The purpose of the Basic Needs Grant Program is to support and sustain strong communities in Hampden County, South Hadley, and Granby, Massachusetts.

March 10, 2017 Completed RFF due – must be submitted online by 4:30 p.m.
March 14 – April 14 Review of RFF
April 28 Funding recommendations made to United Way’s Community Impact Committee from the 2017 Basic Needs Grant Review Team
May 17 Recommendations for funding presented to the UWPV Board of Directors for final approval
May 30 Notify Agencies of funding decisions
June 16 Obtain proper documentation and signed Memorandum of Understanding by each respective agency (approved for funding)
